Veneers & Bonding
Veneers & Bonding can be used for a wide range of dental concerns.
Veneers are a dental procedure in which a thin covering is placed over the outside (visible area) of the tooth. Veneers are usually only done to the part of the teeth that are visible when talking or smiling. Veneers can be used to address a wide range of dental concerns, including chipped teeth, tooth discoloration, misaligned teeth, gapping, and worn down teeth.
The application of veneers usually involves two appointments because the veneers will be fabricated at a dental laboratory. At the first appointment, the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are given a temporary covering. The veneers are carefully constructed at the lab within two weeks. After the veneers are prepared, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are permanently bonded to your teeth. The laboratory fabricated veneers are usually made using porcelain or pressed ceramic and are designed to perfectly compliment your smile.
The advantage of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is removed, and the procedure is generally much more conservative. Veneers are recommended for teeth that have large fillings or little tooth structure. Veneers are a simple, painless way to gain confidence in your smile.
